Lori McCarthy – Don’t Panic Labs

I was born and raised in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Raikes School at UNL. I loved the experience of living and learning with a group of similarly-minded students. While in college, I met my future husband, and we decided to make Lincoln our home.

I’ve been working with Don’t Panic Labs for 11 years filling various project management roles. Recently, I moved into a leadership role for our Professional Services consulting team. I now have a broader focus to ensure that we have the best people on our teams, that they are deployed on projects as effectively as possible, and that they are happy and satisfied in their roles.

The primary challenge that I am focused on is growing our talent. This includes leveling up our newer team members, as well as growing new leaders.

A couple of fun facts about me? I run every day – wind, rain, snow, or otherwise. I have run every day for over 3 three years. I’ve captured daily photos of my son every day of his 6+ years, and I haven’t yet figured out what to do with them. I was the McLean County 4-H Fair Queen in 2004.

If I had five minutes to prepare an hourlong lecture, I would love to share with others the positive effect that access to robotics teams can have on students. I’ve participated on, and subsequently coached, several robotics teams over the last two decades. I long for more students to have similar opportunities.
On a more whimsical note, I would love to teach you how to find amazing deals in all aspects of your life. You might even acquire some things you never realized you needed (and probably don’t).
